India also entered into the race of Top countries hosting mobile applications with an awesome Application(hike) launched on 4th of February this month in both iOS and Android platform, with a plan to launch the application in Blackberry and windows market as well.

Hike is a free and instant messaging application Launched by BHARTI SOFTBANK pvt. ltd. India.Bharti Softbank is India based company which is headed by Kavin mittal, son of sunil Bharti mittal ,chairman of Bharti Airtel.Kavin Mittal signed a 50:50 venture with Japan based Telecom company Softbank.The application was launched on 4th of February this year on iOS platform and was then launched in Google play on 8th of February 2013.
How it works and How is it different from Whatsapp ?
After installing Hike app from the respective market user can message phone contacts whether they have the app installed or not.User can send message another Hike user free throughout the world. The company provides 100 free SMS every month to message friends not using hike. The awesome feature which attract users is that one can reply to these SMS at standard rates and the message comes into user Hike account. A user gets 50 free SMS per month for each friend invited to hike as well gets reward points in form of Indian rupees which one can transfer to his/her cell phone as recharge.
Whatsapp doesn’t provide this much features but still Whatsapp is considered better because hike has some bugs which needs to be resolved.
Hike has been downloaded by 1 million users after its launch in Android market in 5 days only, it may be a red signal to Whatsapp.While Whats app has been downloaded for more than 100 million times since it was launched few years back.

Kavin Mittal the Head of bharti softbank in interviews with different newspapers mentioned, as there was no mobile application for instant chat in market which could provide a smart phone user free atmosphere to chat or share secrets and feelings with their friends so he planned to provide people an option and hence hike was launched with a dream to provide smart phone users better messaging option with increasing penetration of smart phones all around.
There are a plenty of messaging platforms like nimbuzz,Facebook and whatsapp and blackberry messenger but Kavin said in India only a little number f people have smart phones so combining SMS with instant messaging service is really a new option an a better alternative.
This chat application or we can say the instant messaging app Hike is to be launched in Blackberry,Symbian and windows platform as well in the coming month according to Kavin.
